Stapleton, Joan E. (nee Tilford) on July 11, 2003, age 75, of Hendersonville, NC, formerly of Bayville, LI. Beloved wife of J. Howard Stapleton of Hendersonville, NC. Cherished daughter of the late John M. and Gwendolyn Tilford, of Bayville, LI. Loving sister of John M. Tilford, Jr. of Huntington, LI. Also survived by one niece, Gail Peach; two grandnieces, and two grandnephews. A Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday August 8, 2003 at the Oyster Bay Funeral Home, 261 South St., Oyster Bay, LI from 7-9 pm. A Memorial Service will be held on Sat. August 9, 2003, 2 pm, at the Village Church of Bayville. Interment will follow at Bayville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to Four Seasons Hospice, PO Box 2395, Hendersonville, NC 28793 would be appreciated.
