Custis, Madlyn (nee Warren) died on November 24,2003, was born on October 18, 1909 in Nassawadox, Virginia. She is predeceased by her husband Levin Custis and her son Lloyd Wilson. Madlyn and Levin moved to Oyster Bay, NY in the late 1940s. Madlyn joined the Hood African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church upon arriving in Oyster Bay. She was a faithful member until her death. She was a member of the Stewardess Board, secretary of the Missionary Society, and member of the Gospel Choir, where her soft and sweet soprano voice was a great attribute to the choir. For many years she was the Home Missions Worker for the Church. She loved her church and her God. Madlyn was active in the Doubleday Babcock Senior Center. She loved people, and often visited the sick and shut-in. She leaves to mourn her passing two sister, Ida Maurice of Florida and Maime Warren of Virginia, a cousin, Savilla Burton of Oyster Bay,LI, two Godchildren, Elliot Garrison of Huntington, LI, and Elizabeth James of Massapequ,LI, special friends Monica and Gerry OGrady of Oyster Bay, LI, and Judy Kelly of New Hampshire, a host of neices, nephews, cousins, and friends. Services were held at the Hood African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church Nov 26, 2003. Interment at the Pine Hollow Cemetery, Oyster Bay, LI. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Oyster Bay Funeral Home, Oyster Bay.LI.
