Nicholas George Deroko
JULY 17, 1931 – JUNE 3, 2022
Nicholas was born July 17, 1931 in New York City the first of two children to Sam and Antoinette Deroko. Nicholas was drafted into the United States Army and proudly served active duty in the Korean War. His endless charity work and his relentless work ethic were his lifelong passion. Nicholas was a devoted and active member of St. Dominic, R.C. Church and a proud member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a man of honor, generosity, devotion, and a lover of all things Notre Dame. Most importantly, he adored his family.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his beloved sister, Catherine and his wife, Barbara. Survivors include his daughters, Laura Bergano (Steve), and Linda O’Connor (Peter), his son, Joseph Deroko (Renee), ten grandchildren, Steven Bergano, CJ Starkman(Brian), Michael Bergano, Christopher DeMaria (Alexis), Nicholas DeMaria (Kristen), Kiley O’Connor, Christian O’Connor, Rhian Deroko, Joey Deroko,and Jesse Deroko, three great-grandchildren, Nathan, Grayson, and Steven; they were the absolute joy of his life. He is also survived by many loving cousins, relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends 3-5 PM and 7-9 PM on Tuesday, June 7, 2022
