Obituary of Robert L. Knox Jr.

Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert L. Knox Jr. who left us on April 1st, 2025. Born at Glen Cove Hospital and a lifelong resident of Oyster Bay, Robert was a bright light in the lives of all who knew him. He was a bubbly, fun-loving, and sweet individual, with an infectious personality that could always bring a smile to anyone’s face. His laughter and positive energy will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of crossing his path.

Robert was a lover of music, always ready to sing and dance at every opportunity. He also had a deep passion for watching wrestling, something that always brought him joy. Robert attended the Rosemary Kennedy School until the age of 21, and later went on to AHRC Day-Hab, where he found a second family. He enjoyed his time there until his health began to decline, but he cherished the friendships and bonds he made at Day-Hab.

A true social butterfly, Robert loved to go bowling and was always the life of the party. His ability to connect with people was unmatched, and he thrived on the joy of being around others. He leaves behind his loving mother, Ernestine Knox, who cared for him with deep affection and dedication throughout his life. He is also survived by his siblings: Sharon Knox, Cassie, and Derwin, as well as his cherished nieces and nephews: Conrad, Chanel, Deron, Keva, Kirkland, Ciara, Marquise, Alani and Xavier.

Robert’s family provided him with love and support until the very end, and his mother, Ernestine, will forever hold him dear in her heart for the care and devotion she gave him. His bright spirit, infectious laughter, and loving nature have left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

He will be deeply missed by all of his family, friends, and cousins. Robert’s memory will live on in the countless smiles he brought to our lives. May he rest in peace, knowing his spirit will continue to shine in our hearts forever.
