Obituary of Mollie Arfin
In Loving Memory of Mollie Arfin
October 29, 1922 – June 16, 2025
It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Mollie Arfin, who died peacefully at home on June 16, 2025, at the age of 102.
Born on October 29, 1922, in Brooklyn, New York, Mollie was one of many children in a large, loving family. She lived a remarkable life defined by resilience, kindness, and an extraordinary capacity for love. Known for her generous spirit and ever-optimistic outlook, Mollie truly saw the world through rose-colored glasses. She never spoke ill of others, and her presence brought comfort and joy to everyone who knew her.
Mollie endured profound loss throughout her life, including the death of her first husband in World War II and the tragic passing of her son Edward in 1968 at the age of 18. In 1949, she married her beloved husband Ben Arfin, with whom she shared over 70 years of marriage until his passing in 2012. Together, they built a home grounded in love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to family.
She was the loving mother of her son, who remained steadfast by her side and dedicated his life to her care, especially after Ben’s passing. Their bond was one of deep mutual love and admiration—known and felt by all who knew them. In her later years, Mollie was also lovingly cared for by Cheryl, whose compassion and presence brought joy and comfort to her final chapter.
Mollie was sharp, funny, and fiercely loving—famous for ending every conversation with “I love you… I love you more,” and equally remembered for her unfiltered charm when someone needed to be told off. She embodied both softness and strength in the most beautiful way.
Mollie Arfin’s memory will be a blessing to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy lives on in the love she gave so freely and the example she set in how to live with heart, humor, and grace.
A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Wellwood Cemetery, 1500 Wellwood Ave., West Babylon, NY.
