Obituary of Margaret Stacey
Stacey, Margaret, a longtime resident of Locust Valley, NY, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2025, at the age of 78. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas Lee Stacey, with whom she shared 51 wonderful years of marriage.
Born in 1947, Margaret was raised in Sands Point, Long Island, the cherished daughter of the late Frank and Margaret Schneider. A woman of deep intellect and generosity, Margaret dedicated her life to education, the arts, and community service.
She served as an adjunct professor at both C.W. Post and the New York Institute of Technology, where she inspired countless students. Her passion for learning and nature was evident through her decades of board involvement in numerous organizations. Margaret held leadership roles as President of the Sands Point Garden Club and served on the boards of the Girl Scouts of America, the Nassau County Museum of Art, Channel 13, Old Westbury Gardens, and Bailey Arboretum of Lattingtown.
Margaret loved gardening, reading, and spending time with her beloved cocker spaniel, Lady Molly who brought her great joy and companionship.
Visitating Oyster Bay Funeral Home, 261 South Street, Oyster Bay, NY on Wednesday, July 2nd from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Graveside Sevice and Interment to follow at 11:30 a.m. Nassau Knolls Cemetery, 500 Port Washington Blvd., Port Washington, New York.
