Clare Patricia Robb Obituary

Clare Patricia (Butler) Robb, 94, of Quogue, New York, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2025. She was born on January 11, 1931 in Queens, New York, and later made homes in Port Washington, Manhasset, Oyster Bay, Palm Beach, Dorado Beach, Antiqua, and Quogue. 


Clare was affectionately known as Big Red and was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her timeless elegance, understated glamour, and graceful presence turned heads. Her passing has left an enormous void in the hearts of her family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by her continued kindness and unwavering generosity.  


Clare Robb was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, George E. Robb, and her brother, Edward C. Butler.  


She is survived by her eight children: Clare Wenk, (Donald), George Robb, Jimi Robb (JoAnne), Elizabeth Robb (Augustus), Kathryn Robb (Laura), Edward Robb (Na Rong), Dorothy Farrell (Matthew), and Barbara Robb (Lisa).  Clare is also survived by 25 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. 


Clare Robb had a strength of character that only comes from being the daughter of a New York City Police Inspector, a fashion style learned from her mother, and a tender heart that was innate was shown towards all. Behind her iconic oversized sunglasses was a woman who could read a person in a nanosecond.  Those who knew Clare will remember her for her classic timeless style, candor, wit, and enormous heart.  


Clare’s life was devoted to raising and celebrating her large family. 


The Celebration of Life service to honor the life of Clare P. Robb will be held on September 4 at Oyster Bay Funeral Home from 10-1 p.m. with a service at the funeral home at 12:15 pm followed by burial at Locust Valley Cemetery.
