Obituary of Valerie Canadeo

Please share a memory of Valerie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Valerie Canadeo, of Oyster Bay, passed away on September 16, 2025 surrounded by family. She was 70 years old.

Valerie devoted her life to raising her twin boys, Christopher and Jonathan, who were her pride and joy. She cherished every day she spent with them - especially their annual Mother's Day hikes. They also bonded over their love for basketball and spent countless evenings cheering on the New York Knicks together.

Valerie prided herself on creating a warm and loving home for her family. From decorating the house for every holiday to gardening out in the yard, she made every activity a special shared experience. Valerie thrived when she was outside enjoying the sunshine and nature. This passion led her to volunteer at The Planting Fields Arboretum.

Valerie's greatest legacy is the love she gave and the family she created; she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Valerie was the beloved mother of Christopher and his wife Olivia, and Jonathan and his girlfriend Katherine Long. Valerie was the cherished daughter of Patrick and the late Rosemarie Venezia and dear sister of Patrick and his wife Joann Venezia, Michael and his wife Kathleen Venezia, and Peter and his wife Carol Venezia. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Visiting hours will be held at Oyster Bay Funeral Home, 261 South St., Oyster Bay, NY, Monday September 22nd from 4-8 p.m. Funeral Mass at St. Dominic RC Chapel, Oyster Bay, NY on Tuesday September 23rd at 10:30 a.m. Interment Locust Valley Cemetery.
