Richard D. Longworth Obituary

Richard D. Longworth was devoted to his family as a husband,father,and grandfather, and participated actively in the Oyster Bay community. He was married for 62 years to his beloved wife Janice; the loving father of Lisa Gatto (Charles), Cara Longworth-Israel (Steve), and Sandra Cook (Joseph); and the devoted grandfather of Anthony Gatto, Michela Gatto, Claudia Brady, Cameron Cook, Donovan Cook and Declan Cook. Richard served his community as a Nassau County Assistant District Attorney, counsel to Nassau Community College, president of the Oyster Bay Life Enrichment Center, an East Norwich volunteer fireman, and a leader of the First Presbyterian Church. He graduated from Cornell University and Saint John’s Law School. He was an avid boater, skier and world traveler. Visiting Oyster Bay Funeral Home Sunday January 18 th from 3-7 pm. Interment is private. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
