Obituary of Casey Van de Walle

Van de Walle, Casey – Casey Van de Walle, 36, of Oyster Bay Cove, NY, passed away on January 9, 2026, after a prolonged illness. Casey may have lived only 36 years, but she squeezed all the life she could out of those years. She was an intrepid traveler, and loved nothing more than to plan a trip and then immerse herself in the culture of wherever she was going. Always the life of any party, she was a creative party planner and continued to plan parties throughout her months in the hospital. As one of the nurses said, "there was always a party going on in Casey's room." Casey had a strong sense of fairness and the courage of her convictions and always stood up for those she felt were bullied or otherwise taken advantage of. She was curious about everything and never forgot anything. Valedictorian at Cold Spring Harbor High School 2007, Casey is a graduate of Princeton 2011. Professionally, she had an accomplished career as an investment banker, most recently as the Head of Healthcare Investment Banking at Matrix Capital Markets Group. She was also very involved with the Lung Cancer Research Foundation (LCRF) as a result of her advocacy for her mother. Casey is survived by her 21 month old son Caden, her husband Blake Berman and her parents Wendy and James Van de Walle of Cold Spring Harbor. She is also survived by a devoted group of friends who gave her much company and solace in her final months. Celebration of life event to be held at the Crescent Beach Club in Bayville, NY on February 8, 2026 from 12-4 p.m.
