That straight, dark, long hair
Finding her place in the sun.

I met Carol 45 yrs. ago at W Harbor beach . I had 4 children she had 4 then quickly had another one. Her parents were wonderful. Her Mom was at the beach helping Carol. We became close than inseparable friends. I got to know her children very well. Later I knew all 14 of her wonderful grandchildren. The laughter we shared immeasurably. We enjoyed concerts dinners out comedy shows. Later 4 th of July’s at Vito’s and Rosanna’s and Christmas pj parties at Vic and Diana’ house . SI will treasure the memories and I’m blessed to have had her as the best fiend anybody could ask for.

Every week during the Sunday service at the Village Church of Bayville, the congregation is asked for the names of people for whom they would solicit prayers. I mentioned that my longtime neighbor and friend, Carol Rodriguez, had passed away. The organist referred to her as a "pillar of the community." Both my next door neighbor herself and her own children had received day care from Carol.

Carol and Della (Deanne) were besties from age 12 on and hung out almost daily until Della moved to Virginia in the 10th grade. We tried to reconnect by cards and phone calls through the years and managed a few visits when I got up to Bayville. I last saw Carol for a card game or two and catch up talk this past December just a few days before Carol entered the hospital for the last time. So grateful we got a last chance to tell each other how much we loved one another and physically hug and kiss before parting. Such a wonderful human being with a loving heart, surely welcomed as a beautiful angel in Heaven.

I am deeply saddened to hear about the passing of such a beautiful woman. She was a loving and devoted grandmother to my son, and in his early years she showed up for us in ways I will always be grateful for. Her support, kindness, and willingness to help made a real difference during an important time in our lives.
I will always appreciate the love and care she gave my son and the support she offered me.
Sending love, comfort, to my son and the whole
Rodriguez family. May her memory continue to be a blessing to all who loved her.
