Brittany has always felt like spring to me.
When we first met at Fairfield University, I remember thinking, if gentleness had a face, it would be hers. There was a softness about her, a quiet warmth in her smile, a calm in her voice, an ease in the way she moved through the world that made everything around her feel lighter.
We found each other in small, imperfect moments laughing through yoga poses we could never quite master, groaning through early mornings we never quite embraced. Somehow, those simple moments became the beginning of something lasting. A friendship that would stretch across a decade, steady and real.
When she told me about Fernando, my heart held both joy and protectiveness. But it didn’t take long to see what she already knew that they had found something true, something rare, something meant to be. It truly is an honor to witness their love grow and evolve.
There are so many memories I could reach for, so many stories that live quietly in my heart.
But what I return to most is gratitude.
Brittany, thank you for choosing me.
Thank you for your softness in a world that can be so hard.
Thank you for teaching me how to slow down, how to care for myself, how to be present.
Thank you for being a gentle, steady breeze in my life when I needed it most.
You were never loud, but you were deeply felt.
And you will continue to be.
Your love does not end here, it lingers, it moves, it lives on in all of us who were lucky enough to know you.
I love you.
And somewhere, in another life, in another spring
we’ll find each other again. And let's be friends again

Brittany was not just my wife, she was my best friend, my soul mate, my better half and the first woman I shared TRUE love with. The love we had for eachother was the deepest love that two people can ever share and I always made sure I did everything I could for her to always feel that. I can write a whole book on our memories and adventures. I think one of our Best memories is the day I proposed to her on the beach in Avalon NJ. I had the perfect evening planned, a nice romantic dinner on the water and then asking her to marry me on the beach during the sunset. I remember as soon as we finished dinner, I told her we are going to go for a walk on the beach. She noticed I was rushing to get there because I wanted to time it perfectly so I think I gave it away because she had the biggest smile on her face when we were walking down toward the beach AND she knew im always late and never rush, so she knew something big was planned for me to be rushing to get onto the beach so fast. Once we got down to the beach and the sun was setting, I pulled the ring out of my pocket, got down on one knee and before I could even finish the speech I had prepared and asking her to marry me, she immediately yelled "YES!" with an ear to ear smile and happy tears. She was immediatly calling her family and friends so excited to inform them that we were engaged. Seeing her so happy always gave me the most joy in life. I always told her that her happienes is the greatest gift she could ever give me and I always did everything I could to make her happy and feel loved. I love her more than anything and I always will. She is and will ALWAYS be my one true love. I know you are at peace now babe but I miss you every minute of every day and wish you were here. I can't wait to be with you again soon.
- Your Loving Husband- Fernando

My deepest condolences. I was a very shy person in middle school and high school but Brittany was someone who always showed me unwavering kindness. She had such a safe, caring and genuine disposition; her smile and laughter is what I remember the most. I wish for her happiness and her family's well being during these hard times. Brittany is such a shining light to so many and she will not be forgotten - much love, Brittany.

We worked in the same building, yet never truly met. I passed you in the hallways, unaware of what you may have been carrying.
I am so sorry I didn’t see you.
Your loss has stayed with me—not because I knew you, but because I didn’t. And because it made me realize how easy it is to move through our days without truly noticing one another… without recognizing when someone may be struggling quietly beside us.
In your name, I want to do better. I want to slow down, to look around with a more open heart, and to be more aware of the people around me. To offer kindness, even in the smallest ways—because sometimes that is what someone needs most.
I hope others feel this too.
In your honor, may we all pay a little more attention, choose kindness more freely, and be the difference for someone who may be hurting in silence.
May you rest in the peace you so deeply deserve.

Brittany and I met when I first moved to Garden City and quickly became friends living down the block from each other and growing up together. Some of my childhood memories will always include her, happy moments that have stayed with me over the years. Even as life changed, I always looked back on that time with warmth. I’m so grateful for those memories and she will always be remembered. Rest in peace, Brittany. Sending my love and condolences to her family.

I first met Brittany during peer tutoring sessions as she was taking pre-requisites to apply for grad school. Her questions were so thought provoking that I frequently wondered which one of us was the tutor. Upon starting the graduate program, I was happy to learn I would be spending the next two years sharing all classes with Brittany. I have not met a kinder or more thoughtful person. Brittany offered help and resources to all of her classmates and asked the questions of our professors that everyone was too nervous to ask. Her sweet and genuine spirit was a gift to every client she has treated as a Speech-Language Pathologist. Her drive to learn and develop her skills to help people was evident. Everyone that has ever met her is a better person for having known her.

Brittany was the kindest and most thoughtful person, no matter what. I didn’t think our paths would cross again after playing in my front yard as kids, but becoming neighbors unexpectedly for a time and planning our weddings around the same time was so special. Brittany always asked how things were going and remembered the smallest details of conversations we had months ago. I’ll always carry those moments with me and feel so lucky to have known her. We send our deepest condolences to her family and loved ones during this time.
