Obituary of Kevin M. Mazur

Please share a memory of Kevin to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Kevin Michael Mazur passed away May 7, 2026 surrounded by his family. Kevin was a master craftsman and creative savant. He applied his skills to the many remodeling projects he completed for his clients. A self-proclaimed obsessive compulsive, he would scrutinize every detail of his work and took great pride in sharing photos of his impressive handiwork. Those who knew Kevin best know, when he put his mind to something there was no stopping him. It was best to just get out of the way and let him do his thing! He had an enviable willingness to take risks and try knew things that allowed him to explore many different avenues in his all too short life. He was a carpenter, and landscape designer, a pool builder, and a salesman; excelling at each endeavor. He was a master storyteller, with an impeccable memory. Perhaps his greatest passion was boating. He loved being on the water. Something about the freedom resonated with him. His greatest passion project was the gutting and rebuilding a 1950s MFG boat which he transformed into a work of art. Kevin loved spending time at his family's lake house in Maine. Cruise around the lake in his custom-built boat, kneeboarding, trail riding on his ATV, Dairy Queen runs, and eating at Ted's Fried Clams were some highlights of his many wonderful summers there. However, the most important thing about that magical place for Kevin was getting to spend time with his extended family. Family was everything to him and he especially enjoyed being around the younger generation; which was no surprise given he was forever a kid at heart! Kevin is survived by his mother Kathy, father Tommy, brother Tom (Jen), and sister Wendy. He will be forever missed by his niece Ellie and nephew James. Beloved by his extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, their children who he considered second mothers, fathers, siblings, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his uncles Ricky, Scott, Buddy, and Craig. May he Rest In Peace. Visiting Oyster Bay Funeral Home, 261 South St., Oyster Bay, NY, Monday 5-8 p.m. Interment is private. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
