Frances Rutigliano, 85, of Mill Neck, New York, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on June 16, 2026.
Frances was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life was defined by her unwavering love for family. Independent, warm, and deeply grounded, she navigated both life’s joys and hardships with grace. Through it all, her family remained the center of her world, and she found her greatest joy in watching it grow.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, George Rutigliano, and her cherished son, Jack Rutigliano.
Frances is survived by her children, Gina and Albert Gherlone, and Joseph and Franca Rutigliano; her grandchildren, Christopher and Megan Gherlone, Diana and Nicholas Pertoso, Mariella and Carter Boyd, Danielle Rutigliano, Stephanie Gherlone and her fiancé, Matthew Polizzano, and Elizabeth and Joseph Como; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Jack, Georgia, and Rosanna.
Nothing brought Frances greater joy than her family. She treasured every moment with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, taking immense pride in their accomplishments and milestones. Her love, guidance, and devotion shaped the lives of those around her and will continue to be felt for generations to come.
Frances carried herself with remarkable poise and dignity. Whether through her love of opera, her meticulously kept home, or the way she presented herself, Frances embodied a timeless elegance. Always beautifully put together, she had a keen eye for detail and a deep appreciation for beauty, tradition, and refinement.
Though her passing leaves an immeasurable void, her legacy lives on in the family she loved so deeply and in the values she instilled in each generation. She will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered always.
