Obituary of Gretchen Souther

Souther, Gretchen S, peacefully at home in Lattingtown on May 3, 2013 surrounded by family. Beloved wife of Eugene, cherished mother of Kirsten Valt and Karena Johnson. Loving sister of Helen Rodenkirchen (Hans), beloved aunt of Kristina Lacy (Will) and Karalyn Stein (Joseph) and their children Quinn and Gavin Lacy and Christoph Stein. Also survived by her husband's caring six children and twenty grandchildren as well as her devoted Golden Retrievers Challa and Kyna. Gretchen and her Golden Retriever therapy dog Cormac worked assiduously for months after 9/11/01 bringing comfort to victims' families and rescue workers at the family assistance center and at Ground Zero.
