Gloria
My dearest Uncle was a treasure and though we did not see enough of each other in later years from Marti's death, he will always be my hero!
Not sure how we missed this, but with Kathy being so ill and then dying in August, our lives were taken up with her care.
Love from across the pond to all the family

Dear Gloria,
Peter and I are so very sorry and shocked to learn of Jim's passing. Jim made of course a spectacular impression on us both and we were looking forward to resuming our new friendship in Vero.
Please extend our sincerest condolences to all of Jim's family.

I would like to extend my condolences to Gloria and the rest of the family. Jim was a great guy whether on the tennis court or sitting beside me on the way to catch a plane at the crack of dawn. May all your serves be aces in heaven Jim.

It is interesting to note that late in the evening of Tuesday June 23rd 2015 in Oyster Bay there was extreme weather. Hail, some of it golf ball-sized, was recorded in Glen Cove, and Cove Neck through to East Northport. The sky turned that Greenish-yellow color that is said to be a harbinger of tornadoes, but at the last relented to a multi-hued sunset reflected off high clouds as the front petered out. It was said that had the front not suddenly dissipated, conditions might have been significantly worse in Oyster Bay and on Centre Island. In fact, a microburst did pull down trees and put some residents of Cove Neck out of power for up to eight hours, and others in Oyster Bay Cove for nearly two days.
And none of this showed up significantly on radar other than as small localized blips.
I think that former Centre Island Mayor Mooney, who was also a WWII fighter pilot and who had, to put it gently, no fear of stirring up a storm in Village politics, would have enjoyed the coincidence of this tempest on his passing.
