Dear Smith Family: I am shocked and saddened to hear of Duncan's passing. Duncan was the first friend I ever had. When I was 4 years old we went to nursery school together at the Friend's Meeting House in Manhasset - (he got me in trouble a few times!!). With the wonder of Facebook we were in touch by Messenger the last time on July 10th. Words cannot express my sorrow for your family. I will hold your family in my thoughts and prayers...

We are so very sad of the loss of Duncan and for his family. We only knew Duncan from the Wheaton Lacrosse sidelines. But, we shared 4 years with this father of Duncan and Greg, who traveled very, very far, not missing many if ever any games! He was a huge part of the Wheaton Lacrosse family! He organized years of Wheaton Lacrosse tailgates! He truly loved watching and cheering for his sons and the team! I treasure our Wheaton Lacrosse memories and Duncan is a part of them. I was shocked to learn of Duncan's passing. Unfortunately, I am on vacation and out of the state and will not be returning in time for either the wake or funeral mass. My deepest sympathies for your loss. I remember first meeting Duncan around 1965 when you moved into the house next to ours on Birch Lane. Although we drifted apart in later years, there was something special about the childhood friendship that we shared, and we did keep in touch through social media over the years.
