Obituary of Edward J. Garnett Jr

Garnett, Jr. – Edward John of East Norwich, NY on November 14 at age 60. He was surrounded by his wife and children. Ed was born in Huguenot, Staten Island to Edward John Garnett, Sr. and Alice Olson. He attended Tottenville High School and graduated from Fordham University and Brooklyn Law School. Ed married the former Ann Marie Kelchburg in 1982. During 33 years of marriage, they moved to Long Island and raised four children. His wife and family were his proudest achievement in a life filled with professional and personal accomplishment. Ed founded the law firm Riconda & Garnett with John Riconda in Valley Stream in 1989. As a longtime basketball and soccer coach, he mentored countless children. Ed is survived by his wife, Ann Marie, and their four children: Elizabeth Ann and her husband Charles David Teixeira, Edward John (III) and his wife Julia Faye (nee Baron), Reverend Andrew Michael, and Christopher Thomas, and their two grandchildren: Charles Edward and Abigail Grace Teixeira. He is also survived by his brother William and his wife Julianne (nee Santannera), and his beloved niece and nephews: Megan (Coyle), Peter, and William. A lifelong Catholic, he was a member of St. Dominic Parish and the Knights of Columbus. His son, Father Andrew Garnett, is the Associate Pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes, West Islip.
