Obituary of Annie M. Ellis
Please share a memory of Annie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Annie M. Ellis, was born one of seven children to Leona and Arthur Ellis in Pitt Country North Carolina She attended the Pitt County School System. In her early twenties Annie migrated to New York State and settled in Oyster Bay, Long Island. Arriving in Oyster Bay, she knew no one, but ended up knowing the entire town. After starting her new life working as a domestic, she later found other employment working at Andersen Products and worked there until retirement. Annie was a person that had many layers. And once you got to know her you would find one of the most loyal, and funniest people you would ever know. Annie had a heart of gold and exhibited that with all of the people that she took care of during her life. She joined the Presbyterian Church in the late 1960’s and remained a member until death even though health reasons caused her not be able to attended in her later years. Annie was extremely devoted to her church and contributed whenever her health permitted. Annie has always lived life on her terms and lived it to the fullest. She leaves to celebrate her legacy two daughters Brenda (Hazel) Ellis of NY, NY and Amanda Dinkins (David) of Durham, NC and one son Michael Ellis of Clifton Park, New York. She is predeceased by her daughter Annie R. Ellis. She has four sisters that are deceased, Sadie O’Neil, Betty Baker, Sally Dupree and Marjorie Barfield and one brother Herman Ellis. She is survived by one sister Mamie Baker of Snowhill, NC. She is also survived by a multitude of family and friends She may be gone in her body but not in her spirit.
