Back in December 2020 I tried to reconnect with Naresh, having last seen him in Germany in 2013. I was devastated to find this page and to hear that he passed away in 2018 aged just 33. Every time I hear Gangnam Style I can still see and hear him dancing away, so 3.5years on I came back to post this tribute; I hope that your remaining short years were full, vibrant and happy, filled with love and laughter.

I went google searching to find out where that lovely military lad I met around 2015 is now - and ended up here. I’m so very sad and sorry to learn that Naresh is no longer with us. I met Naresh in Colchester, England, at a really difficult time in his life, but despite his evident struggles his light shone through. I’m glad to hear he moved to NY, which is where he really wanted to be. A remarkably intelligent, witty and lovely soul.

Our heartfelt condolences to Naresh’s family. We knew him from his service as a Special Constable with the Metropolitan Police in Lambeth, South London. He was an outstanding officer and such a nice person and a really good friend. He will be greatly missed.

Naresh,
In a short period of time we became friends at both a professional level and at a personal level, we had good talks, and fun times, and those memories I will always hold close my friend. Until we meet again...
"May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon you face, and the rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand.
Rest in peace brother!!

Naresh is a precious, gentle youngster. After spending time in our home delighting us with his manners and fierce intelligence, we awaken the next morning with a message waiting for us in the printer. “Good morning Schmermunds, thank you for a lovely evening”. Naresh you will be missed; your smile and sweet, polite way of making us feel you are really glad to see us.

I was incredibly lucky to have the privilege of getting to know Naresh over the last year or so and he truly left a mark that will never fade. He was incredibly pleasant to be around or have a conversation with, I am immensely grateful to have shared moments with him. I will miss his charismatic persona and hearing his accent from across the room. At times like this I used to wonder why him, why now and I have learned to remember to be grateful for the time had and not the time lost. I will miss him and know he touched many lives in the way he touched mine.
Rest easy my friend, until we meet again...

Little boy, you seem to wake up earlier every morning
Come running from your bed to meet the day
With a pair of sleepy eyes that could have slept a little longer
And a thousand, urgent things you have to say
And the morning passes quickly in the Spring time
And the Spring, time brings such fascinating games
Puppy dogs and chocolate frogs and fishing lines
And pretending that you didn't hear your mummy call your name
Darling boy, your lunch is going cold here on the table
You have to eat these things to make you grow
And I know you're only scared that you'll be missing out on something
But even busy people have to eat, you know
And the afternoon goes quickly when there's good times
And there's good times in the garden every day
Little friendly butterflies that flutter by
And a little friend to help you chase those butterflies away
Darling boy those eyes of yours are looking kinda drowsy
And I know you never want the day to end
But just think, if you close your eyes and lie back on the pillow
It won't be long before the morning's here again
And the morning passes quickly in our life time
And before you even notice, it's gone
So, little boy, I'm noticin' the nice times, now
'Cos I know that little boys don't stay little boys for long

What an accomplished and giving young man Naresh was. In his all too brief time on earth, he did so much for the world. You must be very proud. He chose not only a career path of service, but a personal, volunteer path of service as well. Two of my sons worked along side of Naresh at Atlantic Steamer Fire Department. He inspired them. They looked up to him and were proud to know him and call him their friend. May God hold you and give you strength in the days ahead.
