Obituary of Esther Mantilla

Esther Mantilla Obituary It is with deep and overwhelming sadness that we announce the death of Esther Mantilla on the 13th of August, 2018. Esther, 86, passed away peacefully in her sleep at the family home in Oyster Bay Cove, New York. She leaves behind her legacy; her niece; Claudia Ravins, her great grand-nieces; Ariana and Alexandra Ravins, and her great grand-nephew; Jordan Ravins, as well as Toni, the terrier. Esther found her way to New York City in the 1960's, first as an employee of an import-and-export company, Transmundo, and later as part of the team running Latin American investments at Chase Manhattan Bank. She was wickedly good with numbers, and was one of the first people to learn and use COBAL (the computer business language) within the United States. She was devoted to her family, and will be lovingly remembered for her 1950's feasts complete with her signature cheesy rice, her love of flowers and animals, and above all for the never-ending doting affection and love she showed to every member of the family. Her release from this life was gentle, and although we are sad to her go we are forever grateful for her presence in our lives.
