My name is Karen Underwood. I knew Bobby and Chic for decades. Chicky was my chosen mother and my dearest friends and I loved Bobby also of course. I remember his sense of humor how quirky and silly he could be. I remember going out for dinners and how he would be so delightful when interacting with the waiter or waitress. He would kind of play a little games with them asking them questions or making comments that were really quite delightful. His artistic nature was remarkable. He designed such beautiful things and places I still have a wide rack that he and Curtis made and it’s my treasured possession . Chicky was at a very spiritual and kind nature she was loving toward everyone she meditated daily and believed wonderful things about the divine. I am sure she is enjoying herself tremendously where she is now and grateful that Bobby has joined her. I called Bobby on the phone at the Oyster Bay Home but he would play games with me pretending not to know who I was and joking around with me I know he taught piano there he could play beautifully by ear. Bobby worked so hard to earn a living doing his artistic things. He once had a shop in Huntington called Art and Garden that is where I came to know them because I applied and got a job there he did beautiful silk and dried flower arrangements and from him and chickie I learned to do the same it was such a beautiful shop so interesting the way it was designed inside it looked more like the inside of a home with various level changes on the floor done with bricks they were beautiful wooden arches gorgeous flower arrangements. They would do custom arrangements for people in their own choice of flowers and colors etc. they were well known for their ability to create beauty. As a result of working at art and garden I became a dear friend to both chick Chicky and Bobby we enjoyed one another’s company so much and we laughed a lot together I remember they’re beautiful apartment it was at the corner of the building so there were many windows on several sides the sofas were created on upper levels of the floor that Bobby had changed by adding bricks to make it look like a brick floor so one stepped up onto the floor and the sofas were more of a built in nature they were beautiful hanging silk ferns it felt like a garden itself . We had such lovely times there. Jackie was a delightful cook and loved to entertain and I still remember sitting at their round dining table enjoying a lovely meal and great conversation they also had a little doggy I can’t remember his name right now but they adopted him somehow from somewhere and treated him with great love. Chickie always dressed beautifully and there was always a twinkle in her eyes and a smile on her face Bobby to always had a twinkle in his eye because he was rather mischievous and looking to have a laugh and make some fun for everybody. Chic became the godmother of my son Cory. She was always so caring and attentive toward him. She never forgot a birthday and was always so generous. That was her nature to be generous and loving and kind and supportive. Bobby in his own way would also be kind and supportive and loving he was such a wonderful precious man and it was my great joy to know him.
