So sorry to just hear of Steve's passing. My wife Robin and I became first time boaters at Brewer Capri in 2009 and Steve's advice and guidance has made me the boater I am today. Whether it was our chats in the parking lot, in his office or on the docks, Steve always happy to share his experiences on the water, with his kids and and on the ski slopes. Rest in Peace, Captain.

My sincerest condolences to the Wachter Family. Just heard of this sad news. Was in Vail a couple weeks ago and was going to text Steve as we always connected when talking about skiing in Vail. He would enthusiastically share his memories skiing with his son and I would do the same. I am so sadden to hear of Steve's passing today. We miss him at Capri and I will always cherish the memories and years I got to know him. Thank you Steve and may you eternally rest in peace in the high seas in heaven.

Steve was my senior year roommate at SUNY Maritime, my lacrosse teammate and defensive partner, and a colleague in the boat business for many years. We didn't see each other frequently, but Steve always had an enthusiastic greeting when we met. "Hey, Buddy!" and his big Stevie grin was the rule. We shared many laughs over the years. Fair winds and following seas, old buddy. You'll be missed.

I first met Steve in May of 2013. I came to Capri Marina looking to expand and grow in the marine industry. I worked there until August of 2017. In the 5 years I worked there I enjoyed working with Steve. He truly cared about all of us working there, and even though we always didn’t see eye to eye....he ran that place so well and I have the utmost respect for him. I will always remember him and thank him for allowing me to be where I am today. He believed in me and that meant so much to me. He will sorely be missed. Thank you Steve! May you rest in Peace and travel in calm seas.

I was terribly saddened to hear of Steve's passing. Our family has known him since 1984 and through two boats, we had formed a wonderful relationship over the years. I thoroughly enjoyed talking boating, skiing and clamming with Steve and kept in touch with him even after his recent move to Lake Champlain. He was a warm and friendly soul with a superb nautical mind; Steve will be incredibly missed.
We extend our most heartfelt condolences.
