Obituary of Jeffrey Harold Gordon

On April 26, 2020, Jeffrey Harold Gordon, MD, passed away in Glen Cove Hospital from complications due to Coronavirus. Dr. Gordon was born in Albany, NY in 1939, where he graduated from The Albany Academy in 1957. He went on to graduate from Amherst College with honors in 1961, and then Weill Cornell Medical College with honors in 1965. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Duke University Medical Center, and a fellowship in Endocrinology at NYU School of Medicine. Jeffrey was a physician in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. He finally settled in private practice in Nassau County on Long Island in 1971 where he was a very well respected and highly regarded Endocrinologist for 46 years. Jeff was a passionate reader of fiction and non-fiction. He also enjoyed swimming, woodworking, photography, scuba diving, skiing and world travel. He loved his occasional stogie as well. He is survived by his wife Marie, his children Julian and Deborah, and his brother and sister, Jonathan and Lenna. His mother Lilyan died in 1956 and his father Max died in 2005. Due to the Coronavirus, no immediate funeral/memorial services are planned. He will be cremated on May 27th and a future service will be planned. My dad's/Jeff's favorite quote, by Robert Frost: "Two roads diverged in a wood, and I - I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference."
