Mrs DiMotta was amazing, just like her late husband Mr DiMotta! When hearing the news of her passing I got pretty sad! But then a smile actually came to my face. All I could do is think of the wonderful memories I had growing up on 128rd! And many of those memories have the DiMotta's in them! They truly loved us kids on the block! My wife even knows about the baseball field Mr D painted on the street for us! I can go back many years and visualize little 8yr old me, with a oversized bat, and Mr & Mrs D sitting on their front porch cheering me on! I haven't seen Mrs DiMotta in many years. But she will be missed! And will go down as one of the most generous and genuine people I've known! Oh and us kids loved her so much that when it snowed we never took $ to shovel her yard!

Mrs DiMotta was one of the most genuine human beings you could ever meet. Growing up on 128th Road, she was one of the anchors of our block; where every family looked out for one another. Even though I haven’t seen her in a few years, I would always think of her when I was on the block. You will be missed Mrs. D.

I have so many wonderful memories of Mrs. Dimotta while growing up on 128th Rd in Rosedale.
She and Mr D loved and cared for their neighbors greatly.
Mrs.D was always so graceful and warm, always smiling. She was especially fond of the children of the neighborhood and I'm not to humble to brag that I knew I was her favorite ❤. So glad I got the chance to sit and chat with her one last time a couple years ago when visiting the old block. On behalf of the Simmons family and all of us who grew up on 128th from the 80's thru early 2000's please know you all have our prayers and condolences. Sincerely,
Vaughn Simmons. I LOVE U MRS. D!! ❤❤❤

I grew up on 128th Rd. in Rosedale, Queens and that block was SPECIAL! I remember the DiMottas very well. They were one of the original families on that special block. It was a true old school NYC neighborhood. The families looked out for one another and especially for the children. We were a real family. It was Mr. DiMotta who spray painted the bases on 128th Rd so we had an actual "baseball diamond" on the street. No longer were we using a brick or a spare glove as a base. We had actual white, square, spray painted bases on our block. We were so happy and thankful. It's the little things like that one remembers. The DiMottas cared for all of us in multiple ways. I am so saddened to hear of Mrs. DiMotta's passing. They are special people and back together once again. May they rest in peace.

I am deeply saddened by Aunt Sue's departure.
I have fabulous memories of my family trips to her and Uncle John's home in Rosedale. Late night with Steve Allen, pasta fasoul, and a lot of laughs.
Peace and light to you, dear Aunt.
