Donald M. "Donny" Fowler, 46, died on September 5, 2021 at Jupiter Medical Center in Jupiter, Florida from Covid-19 complications. Donny, the youngest son, was born to Bruce and Cindy Fowler at the Franklin County Hospital in Greenfield on August 3, 1975. He attended local schools growing up. Donny was always very athletic and was on the wrestling team, track team, and his main love, football. He was only the second player to win the MVP trophy at the traditional Thanksgiving football game with rival Mahar as a sophomore. Never the best student, he realized he would have to buckle down if he wanted to play football in college, which he did. He received a scholarship and played for Sacred Heart University, setting some records there. He also played lacrosse in the off season to stay in shape, and graduated with a degree in psychology. While in the 8th grade, he had the opportunity to attend the "Ron Burton Training Village" in Hubbardston, where he acquired many valuable life skills that served him well in later years. Donny was also one of the youngest counselors there, continuing to assist while in college. He was a true friend to all who knew him, a stranger was just someone he hadn't met yet. After college, Donny worked for several HVAC companies as a manger, and was an excellent golfer as well. He leaves his dad, Bruce, and his lady, Ginnie Whelpley, of Athol; his fiancée, Amy Whittaker of Jupiter, FL; his brother, Christopher Fowler and his wife, Jan, of Athol; aunts, Lisba and her boyfriend, Bob, of Berkeley, CA and Maggie of Annandale, VA and Red River, NM and her son and cousin, Eric Judycki of Washington, DC, and Wendy and her husband, Steve, and their children, of Wisconsin; his best friend, Jarret Mousseau and his wife, Cheryl, of Athol; his previous wife, Laurie, of Milford, CT; and literally, hundreds of friends.
