Obituary of Elizabeth Sherlock

Please share a memory of Elizabeth to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Sherlock, Elizabeth-  age 63, a longtime resident of Lattingtown, NY, died on Thursday, November 11, 2021, in the place that made her happiest, her vacation home in Sailfish Point, Florida. She passed peacefully in the company of her family. Born Veronica Elizabeth Jones to her late parents William and Veronica on July 20, 1958 in Fort Bragg, NC, Liz grew up first in Brooklyn and, later, in Fort Salonga, NY.

Liz attended Holy Family High School where she met her beloved husband, John P. Sherlock, III. After a courtship through college, the high school sweethearts were married on Valentine’s Day, 1981. During their forty-year marriage, Liz earned a Master’s degree in Education from C.W. Post and taught elementary school briefly before devoting her life to raising her children and working with her husband to provide a solid foundation for her family in the beautiful home she helped design.

Liz is survived by her loving husband, John, and the four sons of whom she was immensely proud: John Patrick, IV (Kristal), Andrew William, Ryan Christopher, and Brendan Conor. Liz will also be missed by her precious first grandchild, JP, and her next grandson due to arrive to JP IV and Kristal in February, 2022. In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, Liz was the treasured sister of her surviving brother, William Jones (Lisa) and aunt to many nieces and nephews, including Bill and Lisa’s Lauren, whom Liz loved like a daughter. Liz also benefitted from the devotion of her dear Aunt Fran, her close cousins, extended family, and the entire family of Sherlocks, all with hearts full remembering their departed loved one. Liz’s family and friends are saddened by their loss but grateful for the life she lived among them.
