Obituary of Consuelo Hertz

Consuelo Hertz, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, died peacefully on October 4th, 2022. Consuelo was the devoted wife of 44 years of Dr. Howard Hertz; loving mother to their son, Dr. Jared A. Hertz, their daughter, Jessica R. Hertz, and their son-in-law, Christopher E. Angell; and doting grandmother to Madeline and Rose Angell. Consuelo lived an extraordinary life. She had a sharp intellect, kind and quiet manner, and remained fiercely curious throughout her life. She received her Masters in Theology from the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception, continued deep study of music, and was always interested in philosophy. It was this passion for learning and the arts that led her to meet her husband, who was studying medicine in her hometown of Guadalajara, Mexico, and who also shared a love of music. Their love for both each other and of the arts endured over their lifetime. Consuelo was simply one-of-a-kind; deeply gifted, generous, and genuine, who forged her own path in life, guided by the north star of her family.

Visitation will be held at Oyster Bay Funeral Home on Friday, October 7th, 2022, from 4-7 PM. A funeral mass will be held at the Church of Saint Dominic in Oyster Bay, on Saturday, October 8th, 2022 at 9:30 AM. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to: St. Dominic RC Church, 96 Anstice St., Oyster Bay, NY 11771
