He was a friend of my dad's when I was growing up. I called him Uncle Woody then. He had bought me a copy of Asimov's Foundation Trilogy when I was very young; perhaps eleven. I was too young to appreciate it. I only recently got through it as an audio book, and it was excellent. I wanted to call him to say thanks for the recommendation, but it was too late.
I'm sorry that he's gone.

Woody was my dear friend for many decades. He was a truly caring, witty, generous, and a great friend. I miss him very much.
I chose the picture because he loved beagles very much.

I am so sorry to hear of Woody's passing. He was one of the funniest, wittiest person I ever met. He was in a model railroad club with my late husband Brian, and our late friend and neighbor John, and a very dear friend of Frank Sikorski. May his memory comfort everyone who held him dear. Sincerely, Jane Mulraney, Staten Island, NY.

Woody and I had many good times together. We've known each other for about 47 years. We went to England on a teachers Spring break in 1979. We also went to Western Pennsylvania to ride the East Broad Top Railroad Stem Trains in February 1977. We walked through four foot snow drifts and drank Tullamore Dew Irish Whiskey to stay warm. The temperature was near Zero F.
He was a wealth of knowledge on History and Railroads. His Dad seemed to have Woody's sense of Humor and his Mother made a great Chocolate Cake. OF late I visited with him each Summer and we had Dinner together in an Irish Pub in Huntington, NY. I'm so glad I was able to visit with this one last time in July. Frank Sikorsky
