My grandmother was the most stubborn, hard headed woman I know. But underneath that independent persona was this selfless heart, that loved family and friends without hesitation. Everywhere she went she was known. Grandma I miss you so much and my heart will never be the same. I love you. I miss you.

So very sorry to hear the news of Barbara's passing. I enjoyed talking with her over the phone every year when she would tell me of her plans on making the drive up north from FL to NY over the summer to visit family and friends and then head onto a Theodore Roosevelt Association Annual Meeting if it happened to be somewhere along the east coast. Amazing lady who lived every day to the fullest. Rest in Peace.

I met Barbara when my husband was Captain of the Theodore Roosevelt. I knew her name, of course, as she was a stalwart of the Republican Party long before we met. She was intelligent and at all times, every inch, a lady. Any woman would be wise to follow her example to succeed in life while maintaining one's dignity.
