Rose Sohmer was my aunt and godmother, the widow of Julius Sohmer, one of my father Paul's older brothers.
Most importantly, she and my mother Beverly were the closest of friends. Both Julius and my father died in 1985, after which Aunt Rose and my mother traveled, dined out, and spoke on the phone nearly every day. She was present at all of our family events until she was too weak to travel. In recent years, my sister and brother-in-law helped take care of her.
For me, she was a loving aunt who was always fun and full of life. May her memory be a blessing.
