Joe is an amazing guy! I have known him for 39 years.
Joe and I became good friends after working at Hercules for almost 39 years. It has been a long road, I remember the day I went to Hercules concerning a job, I happened to meet with Joe, got the job and since then been working for him, although we had our good and bad days and shouting matches we managed to deal with it lol and throughout the years we became good friends. Joe I will surely miss you my friend and pray that your soul find a resting place free from all ur pains.
Rest easy Joe.

Joe was both my best friend and 'brother' for the last 56 years. In the early days we used to go to concerts in Central Park, hang out at the Electric Circus, and take numerous trips to variety of places. In the later days that turned into watching TV on the couch, falling asleep, and eating (and drinking). Joe always thought he was better than me at playing basketball but I firmly disagreed. He also thought he was better than me at paddleball but again I disagreed. And of course he thought he was better at playing cards - that one I'll give to him. Two of the more memorable times with Joe were in Aruba and Howard Beach. In Aruba he fell asleep on a float and found himself perilously close to moving boats about 100 yards from shore. In Howard Beach the four of us went to the now closed Big Bow Wow restaurant. As we were sitting at a table eating, a young boy about 5 or 6 stood next to him and threw a ketchup laced French fry directly in his face. We must have laughed for a half hour and still reminded him of that constantly throughout the years.
Up to his last days Joe kept his sick sense of humor. But Joe was better known for his generosity, dedication to his work, and his love for Rose, Angela and Joey, and especially his grandkids who he doted on constantly. He was the best friend anyone could ever ask for. My life will never be the same without him directly in it. Rest in peace you bald ****.

There are no words to express how sorry I am for the loss of such an amazing man.
Joe has been a very close friend of the family and my parents Mike and MaryAnn since they were young. The old photos of them with hair and short shorts (the husbands, not the wives) from the 60s prove it. Growing up, going to "Joe and Rose's" was a vacation for my sister Laura and I. I loved their oasis of a backyard and the wonderful hospitality they provided.
Busting chops was a pasttime of Joe and my Dad. And my Mom and Rose would obviously join in. They were always laughing, up until this day. They loved to make plans to get together - usually for a weekend - shopping, going out to eat, having some drinks, and playing cards. Sometimes I'd be on the phone with my Mom and hear the laughter and stupidity in the background, leaving off with a "have fun you crazy kids." Nothing but wonderful memories to look back on.
Praying for the strength of Joe's family and friends during this difficult time. I love you guys and may you rest in the sweetest peace Joe.

Joe and I originally met through the long standing relationship between Hercules Heat Treating and Ellanef Manufacturing in 1974. Joe was a brilliant young man working under the tutelage of his father Joseph Sr. learning the business of heat treating and fixturing critical aerospace parts. I was a very young man who had only just started working for Ellanef. The success of Ellanef and in part, my personal success in the aerospace industry, especially the manufacturing of high heat treat landing gear components, is directly attributed to the knowledge and guidance we gleaned from the Hercules team of Joe Sr. and the Joe Jr.
Joe and I have remained great friends, sharing a mutual respect and appreciation for an industry that allowed us to flourish in our respective career paths. I consider Joe to be one of my closest friends. Throughout these last 50 years, we have shared in each others family occasions including the passing of our respective parents, the births of our children, marriages of those children and many, many great times.
I will miss him dearly.
Rest in peace, my friend
Henry
