In all the years I’ve worked for Dairy Barn Stores I never met a family that had so much love for one another. I enjoyed traveling to Syosset and working with Kelli and seeing her parents, sister Kim and her great love Steven. Kim and Steven built a wonderful life with two beautiful children with such passion, that makes this expression of sorrow even more grief striking. Kim, Steven and Nicole, this is an incrediblely devastating time for you all, and my heart is aching when I think about Mikey. He was such a bright, respectful young man and a hard worker. Every morning when I woke up I would hear the car engine roaring to life and I would know that it was Mikey, getting ready to go to work, Everyday I heard the same engine roaring at the same time and I would know that Mikey was ready to go to work and work his hardest. Mikey has left such a legacy of memories. We truly feel blessed getting to know him. He was always respectful, kind and compassionate. In such a short time we have so many fun memories with him. From playing kickball, basketball, to Pokeman cards with my son, homemade jalapeños, eating salmon, trying collard greens, and playing free style music for me. He took care of my daughter in so many ways: accepted her, guided her, loved her in all the ways a parent would want their daughter to be loved. He was her everything. Q: What will you miss most about Michael?
A: I’m just starting off by saying Mikey was the best boyfriend a girl could ask for. I went to him for every problem and he still never judged me. He was my best friend, and did change my life for the better. He knows how much everyone loved and how many people he made laugh. I will miss being able to call my person and telling him about my day and all the stupid stories. He would tell me how proud he was always of me and how much he loved me and cared about me. He never let me go to bed mad, upset or angry. I miss being able to just hug him and see his smile even though he hated smiling with his teeth I loved it. I miss everything about him and I especially miss the way he made me feel when I was with him. I need to stay strong for him that’s what I know he would want during this.
