Claire M. Kennedy Obituary

Born and raised in Flushing, Queens to the late Richard and Michelina Rodeschini, Claire was a long-time resident of East Norwich. She worked as cafeteria manager at St. Dominic’s Elementary in Oyster Bay and All Saints Regional Catholic School in Glen Cove, taking great joy in engaging with and serving both students and teachers.

Always the hostess, Claire hosted countless holidays and family gatherings over the years, combining her love of entertaining, food, and being surrounded by family and friends. She loved her home in East Norwich, and could often be found hanging out on her porch with her friends from Cord Place, chilling with her crossword puzzles by the pool in the summer, or relaxing by the fireplace in the winter. In her later years, Claire found more enjoyment in watching football, golf, and baseball (her husband seemingly rubbing off on her), but she always had time for a good TV show or Hallmark movie.

Those who knew her best will remember her for her sassy spirit, sharp memory, warm hospitality, and deep love for her family and friends (whom she loved just slightly more than she loved dessert).

She is survived by her beloved husband Daniel of 45 years; her daughters Melissa Kennedy, Elizabeth Tammaro (Chad), and Catherine Gowen (Brian); her granddaughter Kennedy Rose Gowen; her brother Richard Rodeschini (Roseann) and her sister Celeste Stewart (the late David); and many loving nieces, nephews, family, and friends. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.  www.oysterbayfuneralhome.com
