Obituary of Giulia Vascotto
Vascotto, Giulia passed peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Oct. 5, 2024 at age 99. Guila was a resident of New York, NY and formerly a resident of Huntington Bay and Bayville, NY. Born in Rome, Italy, Guila immigrated to the United States as a young woman and WW2 refugee. Once in the United States, she met her late husband Mario, with whom she was married to for over sixty years. Guila was a talented seamstress, cook, and friend to all. She was the loving mother of Lorenzo, cherished mother in law of Mary Ann, devoted grandmother of Nina, Aidan, and Julia, and the best grandmother in law to Grace Burke and Jeremiah Pollack. Guila brought joy to all, with most who met her, relative or not, lovingly referring to her as Nonna. She will be greatly missed, but in the hearts of her family and friends forever. Interment is private and a Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations in her memory can be made to Citymeals on Wheels at citymeals.org
