My condolences to the family. May his memory be eternal. I was a student at PS 122, while Mr. LoCurto was principal in the 1980s. I remember he was kind, talked to us in the hallways and fostered an environment for learning. During his tenure he created a mentally gifted program. I was selected for this program and it impacted me as a learner and led to many successes in life.

He was my principal in the 70’s and I will never forget his kindness. I was struggling one year and he called me into his office and told me I had great potential not to feel discouraged. He got me extra help and it changed my entire educational experience. I will never forget him. I wish he knew because of his support and kindness I went on to became a Director of nursing in the top rated AL on Long Island. I will remember him fondly for the rest of my life.
