My brother Peter and sister, Susan and I grew up in Port Washington but we originally resided at Terrace Circle in the late 50s, where my mother Mary Spindel and Father, Albert Spindel, met Isabella and Brooksie. She always told us that Izzy changed our lives since she encouraged my mother to move to Port Washington where we would have a good life in a wonderful town. She was absolutely correct. I have memories of Bobby and Dianne and, of course, Izzy and Brooksie, as we called them. My siblings and I were having lunch the other day and looked up the Brooks and we saw that Brooksie had passed away not long ago at a very late age. We wanted to express our condolences to the family and read what a wonderful man he was and how he touched many people. May his legacy continue with his family. Thank you Izzy and Brooksie for your influence in our lives, though it was so many years ago.

Brooksie as we foundly called him tought me how to be a loving husband he sure loved Izzy. They always made each other laugh. His love for opera music was a bit beyond my taste as a young man but as my ears matured, I learnedd to appreciate it and i would on occasion send him cd,s of a young opera singer Jaciie Evnecho. I regret not coming to visit you and often wished that we lived closer. Your soul is at rest and may your trip to your maker be a smooth ride.

Gordon you lived a good, long life, and did a terrific job raising great children.
Also , personally, you were great with me when I first got my seat 30 some odd years ago.
I will pray for you, as I suspect will so many others

Brooksie was a wonder man. He was kind, gentle, intelligent and witty. This we learned over more than 30 years of his visits to our chocoate shop in Manhasset. And he did love his chocolates!
He would play both sides. If I was working he would say that
my daughter, Pamela, was mean having me work and if Pam was working I was the mean one. He was just playing it safe but would make us laugh over this all the time.
Several years ago I found him on my street where we reside in Huntington. I thought he was stalking us!! But, as it turned out he was visiting our neighbor, Mary Schuster, who
was a friend of his late wife
Isabella. What a small world it is!
Brooksie, You've done well on earth . Go and rest in peace knowing that you were dearly loved and will be missed.

It has been a pleasure to have known such a caring, quiet, gently and uncomplicated soul. My sister took care of Mr Brooks for many years and during that time i got to know the decent beautiful person that he was.Whenever I got a chance to see him we would talk about poems and all the books he has read and his wife's painting and I've never heard this man complain or behave unfriendly. He always has a peacefulness that he used to leave lingering with me after I've seen him. And just thinking of him right now makes me think of that peacefulness now. He never spoke much but when he did it was always something pleasant that made me laugh. I miss you Mr Brook I always looked forward to coming by and hanging with you with my sister whenever I came to NY. Me and my sisters loved you and your beautiful personality and you will forever have an impact on my life. You will forever linger in our hearts. Rest in peace.
