Obituary of Edward W. Crowley

Crowley, Edward W. on Jan. 8, 2007, age 83, of Syosset, LI. Born on August 29, 1923 in Yonkers, NY to Walter J. Crowley and Sarah Jackson Crowley. Beloved husband of the the late Dorothy. Loving father of Kathleen McDonnell (John) of Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, Robert Crowley (Susan) of East Harwich, MA, and Brian Crowley (Lisa) of Oyster Bay, LI. Also survived by ten loving grandchildren. Dear brother of Emily Facco of Los Angeles, CA, and Walter Crowley of Florida. He graduated in 1941 from the High School of Commerce in Yonkers. He was a devoted WWII Veteran who served in the US Armys Fourth Armored Division assigned to General George S. Pattons Third Army in Europe, and is the holder of five battle ribbons for the Ardennes, Central Europe, Normandy, Northern France, and Rhineland. He was awarded the Bronze Star, Distinguished Unit Badge, European Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal. In 1948 he married the late Dorothy Schildknecht Crowley, and in 1954 moved to Yorktown Heights. He retired while employed at the Bank of New York in 1988. Funeral Services were held are privately under the direction of Oyster Bay Funeral Home.
