I was lucky to have known George as both being a student in his class and as a colleague. As a student, I will never forget the 60 page report on the animal kingdom, our class trip to Fire Island, and most importantly his humor and warmth he gave to us as students. As a colleague, I will always remember his funny stories, the lottery scratch offs, and his way of making you laugh even when you wanted to cry. He will always have a special place in my heart. I feel so blessed to have known George. Jane my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Whenever George, Diane Fierro, and I went out to lunch at the Baldwin Diner,George would always order his favorite...TENDERLOIN TIPS. It didn't matter whether lunch was 11:00 or 11:30. Tenderloin tips would be the specialty.

George was a friend, someone we shared good times with, laughed with, traveled a far with! He was a softy, but when we needed him to get a deal going or a trip to a Fantasy Island he had all the tools to make it happen. If it weren't for him we wouldn't have seen Europe or any of the "wonder of the Islands". He used to call me Galluch, his endearing way of teasing me about my real Italian name!My memories of our friendship with him and Jane are of our youth before we had to live life on life's terms. Friendship never dies, it lives in the memory of those it touched. My thoughts are with you Jane....

Jane, although we've never met,I worked with George and know how much he loved the sea and sharing his experiences related to diving with his students.
I pray that that same peace and comfort that he felt about the ocean are with you and his family now as you mourn his passing.

Dear Jane,
I will always remember George's kind and generous heart. We shared so much during our years together in Atkinson - the good, the bad, the ugly.
My sincee condolences to you during this difficult time.

For most of my teaching career, George was like a brother. We traveled together, partied together, dined together and shared many memorable times. He was my travel guru. He visited places and experienced things most of us only dreamed of. George had a great sense of humor, was sharp as a tack, and a big heart. I have always cherished the times when we were close friends. He willed be missed dearly by all those fortunate enough to have called him their friend. My deepest condolences to Jane.

I worked in the same Block with George at Atkinson, and we used to go to lunch pretty much every day. He loved the steak tid bits from "heavy seat" diner as we nicknamed it! I was sad to hear of his passing and I wish Jane and his family well.

George told cute jokes which he always laughed at with such a little child's giggle. He will be remembered for many things, but mostly for his kind heart.

George was a wonderful friend in the 60s when we hung out together in highschool and inbetween college. He was always ready to share a laugh or produce one. He knew I was a little self-conscious about my driving, so he used to lie across the back seat and use all the seatbelts to buckle himself in. Or, in the front seat, he'd pull the key out of the ignition on the highway! We could've died, but we would've died laughing. George's death is so sad to me. He was a big-hearted, good-natured, extremely lovable human being.
