I was a toddler 35 years ago when I have my first memories of Teta Damaska. I still vividly remember her warm spirit, easy with a smile, always bringing a sense of comfort to those around her. She and her family were always so kind to me. I know the whole Raguz family was so important to my family when my parents first emigrated to this country; no doubt a surrogate family. Although we have since fallen out of touch, she left an indelible impression on me with those childhood memories. She will be missed by all whose life she has so graciously touched.

I have many fond memories of Mrs. Raguz. Two that especially come to mind are going to Central Park for ice skating lessons with Mrs. Raguz, my mother and Anna. If I knew then that I would be spending so much time at the rink with my son playing hockey, I would have never given up on those lessons! The other is a Christmas party at her church in the city when St. Nicholas gave me a pair of kangaroo shoes. I know that she is enjoying her reunion with my parents, Mary & Bill Morrissey.

Damaska Raguz (1925 -2008) U ponedjeljak 21. srpnja preminula je Damaska Raguz rodjena Katic, supruga Djure i majka Ane Raguz Bifulco. Pokojna je rodjena 11. prosinca 1925. u Gradcu. Damaska Katic napustila je rodnu Hrvatsku i dosla u Ameriku 1961. Pokojna Damaska Raguz je bila vrijedna suradnica Hrvatskog Narodnog Vijeca. Suprug Djuro je bivsi clan uprave Hrvatskog Radio Kluba, a kcer Ana na emisijama “Glas Slobodne Hrvatske” bila je nas najmladji suradnik. Pokojna ce biti izlozena sutra, u cetvrtak, u Oyster Bay Funeral Home, 261 South Street, Oyster Bay, Long Island od 3 do 5 popodne i od 7 do 9 navecer. Sprovodna misa ce biti u petak, 25. srpnja u 9:30 ujutro u St. Dominic’s Roman Catholic Church, 93 Anstice Street, Oyster Bay, Long Island, a iza toga pogreb na St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, Long Island. Za pokojnom ostaju ozaloscen suprug Djuro, kcer Ana Bifulco, zet Patrick, i unuke Katarina i Adriana, a u Engleskoj brat Radovan Katic sa obitelji. Hrvatski Radio Klub i clanstvo upucuje izraze sucuti i solidarnosti cijeloj obitelji Raguz. Dragoj Damaski koja je iznenada napustila svoje mile i drage zelimo da je Gospodin primi u svoje kraljestvo i nagradi za sve dobro sto je napravila u svom zivotu. Pocivala u miru bozjem.
