Ann, Billy, Robbie, and Katie, My heart goes out to you. Because Bill was an anchor for so many, his sudden passing brings an extra shock for all of us who knew him. He was a good man, and for me a friend as well as a business colleague. He was my personal bridge to New York and a mentor for a new career and new life here. In the world of competitive pressures and battles known as Wall Street, he maintained an essential human dignity and kindness. Although he has left us far too soon, he lived more in his one life than most do in two. He was passionate about work, golf, reading, friends, and most of all, about you, his cherished family. Anne,Billy, Robbie, and Katie My memories of your husband and father are of someone who always knew which direction he was going in.He met all his challenges the same way.He attacked every problem with a mathmatical logic and seemed to always overome any hurdle. In 2004 I had surgery at Mercy Hosp. in Rockville Centre. I spoke to Bill about this. He told me that he would send someone to look in on my progress. I was just awakening and managed to see someone leaving my bedside. Then the staff came in and they were all buzzing around me. I learned later that someone was the President and CEO of Mercy Hosp. I met Bill Adamski when NY Credit became a client of mine. I am a recruiter and placed his assistant Bernadette at his office. Upon meeting Bill and his staff, I recognized a man who not only led a cohesive office but displayed a niceness and genuine quality that left a lasting impression on me. His warmness and caring as a professional and as a boss was evident and not always a commonplace quality, especially in the workplace. It was evident to me that his committment to his family and colleagues was paramount, (he loved showing off those family pictures in his office), and although my relationship with Bill was but just of short duration, I will mourn his loss.
