Obituary of Martin Jay Rund
Please share a memory of Martin to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On Wednesday February 11th at 3:00 a.m., my husband Marty Rund took leave of his earthly form and his spirit soared to a new place to begin a new journey. He was my best friend, confidant, protector, soul mate, and my love for 44 years, 42 of which were in marriage. Our love produced two wonderful sons, Brian David and Matthew Scott. They have made us so proud and have extended our family to include their lovely wives and children (our delicious grandchildren) -- Mary Ellen, Brian, Katie and Ashley Rund; Jessica, Matthew, Tyler and Jordan Rund. Marty leaves behind his mother, Margaret Rund and his sister, Sandy Rund. Their love was evident right through the end of Marty's life and it touched his heart. He will also be missed by the remaining Rund family, including his nephew & his wife and their children. He also left behind the Fleisig clan, all of whom lovingly took him in as a brother, uncle, or cousin. His mischievous side was quite evident at all Fleisig gatherings to everyone's chagrin. But they loved him even more for it!Last, but not least, Marty leaves behind all of the friends he embraced during his lifetime. They loved and were touched by his grin, expansive personality and ability to say candidly what was on his mind. We all celebrate Marty's life and will miss him terribly, but know that he is somewhere playing a game of golf and eating all the bread and deli that he can get his hands on.
