I am very sorry to hear about Uncle sonny, one of my favorite memories was the first time he met Ed in Lafayette. He shook his hand, pinched his cheek and palmed his face. LOL I think Ed thought he was going to take his head off. I love him very much. He will be missed. I am praying for the family.

I'llalways remember when we were kids. Uncle Sonny always seemed so big and strong then. We used to do pullups on his arms. Although we have all kinda went our seperate ways over the years and I didn't get to see him as I would have liked, he will be dearly mist and in our hearts forever.

Words could never be enough to describe the love i felt for you . i am sitting here thinking about all the memories growing up , so many laughs , ups and down, you were such a big part of my life. You were given such a tremendous role to fill when you became my Godfather. The talks we had , the jokes we shared all still held close to my heart. I remember dancing with you at my wedding and all you cared about is if i was finally happy. There were times you had to step up and be the other father i needed and i never got to tell you Thank You! I know you always tried to be the big tough guy , but i did get to see the sweet loving guy when i needed you to be that you did not judge but offered help. You always had my back and i will remember it always. You were my crutch when my Dad was sick always a call away and i knew you would be here at any time of day or night. Thank you for giving so much of yourself, the laughter, the warmth , your caring and very special love. My Forever Love My Special Godfather - Dawn

May God Bless The Assenzio Family at this difficult time. I remember the kindness both Sonny & Babe showed both my sister and myself when my father passed and very much appreciated their caring.

Santo Assenzio was my Uncle. We always called him Uncle Sonny. My Uncle Sonny always made me smile, he always made me laugh, he always made me happy. When we were kids growing up on my Grandfather's farm in upstate NY, we looked forward to visits from Aunt Babe (Anna), Uncle Sonny and my cousins, Mary Ann, Andrea and Tommy. Uncle Sonny would load up all the kids and take us on a wild ride for ice cream. He drove the back roads fast and took the corners hard, sending us crashing into each other and howling with laughter. I should note that this was before the age of child seats and seat belts. It was the highlight of every visit. If there is a heaven, I know he is up there. God has no doubt rewarded him with a fast old Ford. I'm sure he is gathering up all the young children he can find, racing through the clouds to find the best ice cream imaginable. He is making them smile, he is making them laugh, he is making them very happy.
