Obituary of Walter J. Caracciolo

Caracciolo, Walter Joseph of Lattingtown, previously of Glen Cove, passed away on February 5th, 2011 at the age of 92. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Natalie, his daughters Diane Ursprung (pre-deceased by Kip) of Geneva, Switzerland, Jane Armstrong (Jim) of Lattingtown, Liz Krumenacker of Boston, Massachusetts, Annemarie (Romesh Vaitilingam) of Bristol, England, in addition to his seven grandchildren, Meredith (Mark D'Agostino), Blake, Cordelia, Lindsay, Brett, Cara, and Marco and numerous nieces and nephews. His sister Marjorie Hagan predeceased him. Born in New York City to Joseph and Florence (O'Brien) Caracciolo, he graduated from New York University and had a long career as an aeronautical design engineer, working on computer and CAD designs for military and commercial airplanes, including the Concorde. Memorial Service will be held at St. Josaphat's Monastery on Thursday, February 10th at 11am. Due to limited parking arrive at the Armstrong residence, 10 Peacock Lane, Lattingtown, NY 11560 (3rd right off Peacock Lane). Transportation will be provided to the Service. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Hospice Care Network. The family is also asking able donors to donate to their nearest blood center as the gift of blood helped to sustain him through his valiant battle.
