Jim was always ready with a witty comment or point of view. He enjoyed being with people. I am most grateful that I had gotten to meet him and spend time with him. He will be missed. Rose Cassidy

Charlie and I especially enjoyed Jim's counsel on so many subjects. He was a learned man with a quick wit and an expansive vocabulary! After that, his humor. He will be missed. May he rest in peace in the arms of our Lord

Jim was a great friend, always ready to help and give guidance.
There were special times when planning ski trips and skiing across the USA and Europe
Around St Patrick's Day he would tell me I like that diddle-dee stuff ( Irish music)
Jim's wit and humor was to treasure, sometimes not sure if kidding or not.
We love you and miss you. I will play diddle-dee music for you

"I don't know your new spouse but I'm sure that you understand that I will never believe he is good enough for you. He will just have to get used to that no offense intended. Jameson indeed, I always thought was the name of a most prominent Irish whiskey . I will take that choice as a compliment and thank you very much. This is getting complicated because I see you are responding even as I am speaking very confusing I'm going to go read what you're writing. More later love grand uncle Jimmy" The last message between my Uncle Jim and me. I will never forget those big, crazy eyes, his very sarcastic and dark sense of humor, our emails throughout the years, me persistently texting him so he could get with the times and him finally responding, his encouragement in any dream I had, him encouraging me to keep making my art, and our sushi dates when I would come to visit. My grandpas odd older brother who I always wanted to understand and keep up with. Tell the family hi for me and I'll see you someday Uncle Jim ❤

Our memories of Jim are of a great friend who cared and listened to others problems forgetting his own. His wit and humor were sharp, always keeping you on your toes. I for one was never sure when he was putting me on. I enjoyed our phone conversations, always coming away learning something new. John enjoyed their time together playing golf, as best they could and when that ended, lunches at Old Street Pub were looked forward to and enjoyed. We became movie buddies, June making sure we saw as many as possible and although Jim was a tough critic, he kept coming. Every time a Disney movie plays I think of Jim.
The past few years he suffered greatly but never heard him complain. That's how he was, push through and keep going. Our last memory of Jim was 2weeks ago, he and June visited with us. As we sat on our deck enjoying our first visit in a long time Jim seemed so relaxed that June remarked "I'm surprised he doesn't want to leave. The memory we will cherish is being able to enjoy him that day. God Bless! We love and miss you. Maureen & John
