Obituary of Emma L. Wright

Emma Lee Wright was born February 14, 1947; to the late Nellie W. Custis and Aaron Wright. She departed this earthly life on September 7, 2020. She was a former member of Holland Chapel A.M.E. church during her youth. Emma was fondly called Weegie by everyone who knew and loved her. She loved her space and let you know if you were getting too close.Emma graduated from Chicot High School in May 1965. She continued her education at the University of Arkansas where she earned her Bachelors in Business Administration.Emma was a faithful and dedicated member of Mount Olive Baptist Church. She loved Sunday School. She served on the Trustee Board; an active member of the Women’s Ministry and served in various ministries. Emma retired from the Roslyn Savings Bank in 2008 after 40 years of service; where she was Vice President and Branch Manager. Also was an active member of the Gold Cost Rotary Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Arthur G. Wright. She leaves to mourn her beloved brother and sister-in-law Kenneth and Ethel Wright of Massapequa, NY, one niece Charlotte Michelle McGarry (Scotte) of Newark, DE, one nephew Kenneth David Wright (Colenthia) of Montgomery AL, five great nieces Jeremia, Kelsey, Destiny, Kayla, and Kendra, and a great nephew Kamau Blackwood and a host of other relatives and friends.
