Things I’ll remember about Dad:
His snowman pancakes and cream of wheat in the morning
His sniky-snaks with cocktails at 5
His holding my hands and dancing me on his feet
His lifting me up by my ears (actually I was holding on to his arms)
His love of St. Croix and Mayfield
His keen observation skills
His sense of humor
His unreserved and expansive laugh
His relish of a solid legal argument
His knowledge and skill of interior and exterior painting
His disdain for water based paint – a number of times driving all the way to CT get oil paint when it was banned in NY!
His ability to put so much spin on a tennis ball no one could return it
His love of good food…
His porterhouse steaks off the grill, potatoes and onions, a good marinara
His tendency to see and do things the old fashioned way
His ability to charm the meanest-looking and wary canines and get them to lick his hand
